Elizabeth Shepherd

Elizabeth Shepherd has been playing the harp for eleven years, and she began performing publicly at age nine. Her first performance was in southern Indiana when she performed dinner music for a poetry competition award banquet.

Since then Elizabeth has been active in her community performing for the Union County Post Office, the Lebanon Library, the Gas City Tea and Fashion Show, and the Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center. Elizabeth also performs regularly at churches across Indiana. At the Indiana Statehouse, where Elizabeth has performed repeatedly, she admits to experiencing a bit of nervousness once when Senator Delph personally made a request to hear her play a song. She has also performed at the Indianapolis Convention Center and at Gretchen's Bridal Boutique.

Elizabeth participated in the Midwest Harp Festival, competing in three of their competition categories. She was the first place winner of the Salzedo Competition, and the second place winner in the Advance I and Advanced II Divisions.  Elizabeth is a student of Elizabeth Richter  at Ball State University and performs with the Ball State Harp Ensemble and in studio recitals.

A highlight recently for Elizabeth was her performance at the Lyon and Healy Summer Concert Series where she performed in their beautiful concert hall on the top floor of their harp manufacturing building in Chicago.
